CBD Disposable Vape vs Rechargeable Vape

disposable cbd vape pens

Table Of Contents

Disposable vapes have recently taken over the world; they’re a quick and easy alternative to smoking, and even regular vapers have been buying them in droves. They are popular amongst vapers using nicotine e-liquid, and now they are becoming increasingly more popular amongst CBD vapers too.

Slowly but surely, they are becoming as commonplace as a standard, rechargeable vapes. But, which is better?

What is a disposable vape?

A disposable vape is a single-use vape pen with no set up or maintenance. It comes with a pre-filled tank with a specific amount of e-liquid inside, as well as a battery. You simply vape it until the liquid has depleted or the battery has run out of charge. It cannot be refilled or recharged, so when you are finished with it you throw it away. Most disposable vapes last around 300-400 puffs.

Pros and cons of disposable vapes

Pros

Commitment free vaping: If you are new to vaping, they are a good starting point. There isn’t any long-term commitment as you don’t need to buy a load of kit to test it out. And, if you don’t like the flavour, you aren’t tied to finishing the bottle of e-liquid.

No charging necessary: The vape pen comes with a pre-fitted battery, so you don’t need to worry if it has charge – nor do you have to store any charging cables.

Easy to use: The process of vaping (charging, refilling e-liquid) can take a day or two to get used to, which can be a factor in deciding to vape CBD or not. Simply being able to use it straight out of the box takes away the pressure and can be a great starting point for vaping.

Hassle free: Because the vape is pre-filled and pre-charged, there isn’t anything you have to do except use it. They don’t need to have components cleaned or changed, meaning it’s the most convenient way to vape.

Cons

Weaker: Disposables don’t have any way to alter how they vape, such as modifying the airflow or the coil. If you want more throat-hit, more vapour or flavour, there’s nothing you can do. You’re restricted to pre-determined settings.

Expensive in the long term: Whilst disposable vapes are considerably cheaper up-front, they are a lot more expensive in the long run. Often, you find yourself paying for around 2ml of e-liquid, and it’s much more cost-effective to buy liquid you can refill.

Limited choice: There isn’t a wide range of different flavours and CBD strengths when it comes to disposable vapes. Aside from this, you are stuck with certain looks when it comes to the pen itself.

Environmental impact: Disposable pens are inherently bad for the environment; they are a single-use item that will end up in landfill. Therefore, it’s important to consider the potential impact of disposable vapes before deciding to use them full time.

Possibility of leaking: Particularly when travelling on a plane, disposable vape pens tend to leak what little e-liquid they contain. This can make for a wasted pen and an unpleasant vaping experience.

What is a rechargeable vape?

The clue is in the name: this is a vape device that you can recharge and can be used indefinitely. This is a traditional vape, made up from a battery, a tank, a vape coil and e-liquid. They can be recharged and refilled, and come in a wide variety of styles to choose from meaning you’ll struggle to get bored.

Pros and cons

Pros

Better performance: You can tailor a rechargeable vape to suit your needs, by adjusting the airflow, changing the liquid, and adding new coils etc. This allows you to gain the best performance possible every time you vape.

Value for money: Whilst rechargeable vapes cost a lot more upfront, this is a one-off cost. There are small regular costs, such as the price of e-liquid and the occasional replacement part, but in the long run, they are considerably cheaper than disposable vapes. Finding a good starter kit can help you to gain the essential equipment, and you can expand from there.

Spoiled for choice: Not only can you choose from a wide range of CBD vape flavours, but you can also choose the physical size of your vape, what you want it to look like, the wattage, the style and more. This Drop Vape device is a totally unique shape, and these Lyra devices come in a wide range of colours and patterns – something you won’t find in disposable vape devices.

Higher build quality: Because these are designed to be used repeatedly, they are built to last; they stand up better to day-to-day life.

More eco-friendly: Whilst you will use bottles of e-liquid to refill your vape, these can be easily recycled and further waste is limited. You don’t need to throw away the whole device when the battery runs out.

Cons

Higher up-front costs: The initial cost is considerably higher than that of a disposable vape pen. Starter kits can be pricey by comparison and building a stable vaping base will cost you.

High maintenance: You have to refill vapes and charge them to ensure that they will be readily accessible to you in everyday life. The coil inside will need to be changed periodically, too.

Which is best?

There are a lot of factors to consider when deciding which is best for you.

For a new and unsure vaper, it may be good to try a disposable pen first to see if this is something they are interested in. The obvious lack of commitment with a disposable is less daunting and cheaper.

However, in the long run it is considerably more beneficial to use a rechargeable vape; it’s more cost effective, and better for the environment.
